Typically, the concept of ‘conscious consumption’ relates to the social movement based around increased awareness of the impact our purchasing decisions have on the environment, and our overall health.

But for me, conscious consumption is also about being both aware and discerning about what I eat, drink, watch, read and listen to.

It’s the foundation of the Letting In element of my self-fidelity practice.

Given that the challenges of our (pretty crazy) modern-day existence continue to increase, it is essential that we continue to grow our inner resources. Our ability to thrive depends on our inner/outer resources keeping pace with our challenges.

Being conscious about what we consume supports us to protect and grow our resources.

Self-Fidelity Practice to Play With

This week I invite you to play with asking this question before you make the decision consume something:

Is this choice going to move me towards vitality or towards depletion?

When it’s unhealthy, it’s wrong, and on some level you feel that. When you live your life going through the motions, it may seem to be convenient, but the weight of your dissatisfaction creates a huge imbalance in the only life you have now.
